Story of the brilliant and controversial African-America (“Negro”) scholar, sportsman, lawyer, actor, singer, civil and political rights activist, Paul Robeson, who was a giant of the stage and screen in the 1930’s-40’s (Othello, Showboat, King Solomon’s Mines, Proud Valley, Ol’ Man River, Deep River, Swing Low Sweet Chariot, etc.), and an outspoken opponent of fascism, colonialism and McCarthyism in the 1930’s-50’s, whose accomplishments make him one of the great entertainers and activists of the 20th century.
